Introducing the Open Knowledge Format

Open Knowledge Format (OKF) is an open specification that standardizes how organizations represent knowledge for AI agents and LLMs.

• •OKF uses markdown files with YAML frontmatter to represent structured knowledge about tables, datasets, metrics, and APIs
• •Solves fragmented context by unifying knowledge scattered across catalogs, wikis, code comments, and documentation
• •Vendor-neutral and portable: works without proprietary SDKs, stores as plain files in git repos, requires no complex runtime
• •Built on three principles: minimally opinionated, producer/consumer independence, and format-based design
• •Reference implementations include an enrichment agent for BigQuery and an HTML visualizer, with sample bundles for GA4 and Stack Overflow
