Astro is joining Cloudflare

Cloudflare has acquired The Astro Technology Company, the team behind the Astro web framework, committing to its continued open-source development.

• •Astro will remain MIT-licensed and open-source, with all Astro Technology Company employees joining Cloudflare and continuing to work on the framework
• •The Astro Ecosystem Fund continues with partners including Webflow, Netlify, Wix, Sentry, and Stainless
• •Astro 6 (first public beta now available) introduces a new dev server built on the Vite Environments API, enabling local development using the same runtime as production (e.g., Cloudflare Workers via workerd)
• •Live Content Collections are now stable in Astro 6, allowing real-time data updates without site rebuilds
• •Astro 6 also adds first-class Content Security Policy (CSP) support, Zod 4 upgrade, and simpler APIs
