Introducing Time Allowances

Apple introduces Time Allowances in iOS 27 and later, enabling parents to manage their children's app usage across Entertainment, Games, and Social Media categories.

• •Time Allowances allows parents flexible control over app usage with categories tailored to children's ages
• •Entertainment and Games categories are determined by App Store primary/secondary category selections
• •Social Media category is based on social media capabilities, not App Store category, with a minimum 13+ age rating
• •Developers can use Declared Age Range API to disable social features for under-13 users and avoid Social Media classification
• •Starting September 2026, declaring social media capabilities becomes mandatory for all new app submissions and updates
