Announcing Native Lakehouse Sync

Databricks announced the Public Preview of Native Lakehouse Sync, a capability that replicates Lakebase data to Unity Catalog managed tables without pipelines or external compute.

• •Enables automatic schema propagation where schema changes flow instantly without requiring manual sync recreation
• •Supports scale-to-zero operations where sync pauses when database scales down and resumes from the last LSN
• •Provides unified governance and automatic optimization through Unity Catalog capabilities including SCD Type 2 history tracking
